Pyatt Hall: Great New Venue!

  • This weekend’s gig at the beautiful Pyatt Hall (VSO School of Music) was so much fun! Denzal Sinclaire makes it all look so easy, whether he’s singing or playing piano. I got to solo with an incredibly swinging rhythm section in Dave Robbins, Ken Lister and Bill Coon on Corner Pocket, a tune that I listen to almost every day in my car. So fun to play the music of Basie with such a great band. Thanks, Jill Townsend!

Thanks to Cory Weeds for hooking up this concert series at Pyatt Hall. I’m already super excited about the upcoming PJ Perry/Renee Rosnes show there on April 18th. Neil Swainson will be on bass and Terry Clarke will be playing drums, so it’s going to be an amazing concert. I just recorded with Renee in New York last month and she really is something else. She is SERIOUSLY great.

See you all there! Tickets are here:

All of the above are seriously great. Especially Basie… Great news, Steve!
